the only good thing about our circumstance, at least in my case, we can pass it on. The housing bubble has done me a great favor here where I live in the bay area, because folks have a need to bring their homes up to market values by remodeling. A recent project was adding a 2nd story on one level home and we did the project time and materials as the General. The subs gave prices.
I have to admit my Guatamalan friends work harder and for less money then anyone I would get from the labor pool here. A sub came by our job recently and said he hadn't seen so many white guys on a job in years. Where I live most young carpenters are mexicans, some day CA will form its own country and spanish will be the first language. vbg.
