Heck, I personally know one person who is considering selling part of his property because his income, while keeping up with the official inflation rate, is not sufficient to maintain his modest household expenses for his family of 3. This guy is cheap too, so it's not because he's being frivolous. His kid is 10-years old, so it's not about college, tuition (home schooled), or medical expenses (they're all healthy). He built the house 15-years ago, and he was getting along fine until the past 2-years.
