Didn't you had like 65% of your portfolio a year or two ago, a la 10 000 shares?
It's complicated. Yes, I think I had 100k shares (even 150k at some point) when we we trading at 0.35 pre-split.
A number of things have changed. One, SIAF is facing more competition now from other cheap beaten down China stocks. And I had to upgrade a few of them. And SIAF is up 300%. Also, we could see a correction in the near term.
So I reduced my position from 4,000 shares last week to 2,500. Really below my minimum stake now. But you probably know that I follow my valuation model mostly, so I had to. I expect it to be temporary though and buy back a lot more shares in the coming months.
No, I did not miss out because I sold SIAF earlier this year. In fact, I made a whole bunch on CMGHF, and some on ZA and some on HERB as well. The only thing I did wrong, that really cost me, is my insurance (hedge) against a down market. But whether that is a mistake is debatable. I think I need some insurance.
I will buy back a lot more. That's the plan. I think it's the right strategy.
