RE: FreeMarkets: Great Systems?

Hey FM!! How is that heat out there in AZ!! :o)

No, no great systems as of yet. I am still working on trading with my hourly and daily NDX breadth charts, along with some S/R and trendline analysis. It is starting to come together some, but not enough yet to write a book about it and retire!! :o) Indicators aside, I am also dealing with psychology and money management of trading. Here are two areas of trading that can not be back tested! I am getting more comfortable on putting on a trade, dealing with draw downs, dealing with loses and gains, and dealing with missed opportunities. Again, all things that can not be back tested; you just have to go through it to get better at it. In the long run, I still feel trading is a great skill to learn.

Oh, that reminds me. You asked about filing for a patent on some software that you wrote. Make sure that you have not already signed an agreement with your employers that states anything that you develop while employed with them is theirs, unless it is outside of the business you are in OR you develop it on your own time and with your own resources. I have such an agreement with my current employer, but my patentable idea deals with automatic irrigation, not with EDA software, so I am in the clear on that (already got an email from legal saying they don't care). Just something you need to look into before pushing forward with a patent.

So, how about you? You found the Holy Grail of trading yet? BTW, anybody figure out how this time-space continuum works yet? This could real useful in knowing what the markets are going to do tomorrow! :o)

Later!
