Exactly right. In fact there was an intense effort by investors around last year's PTOI proxy vote to prove exactly my point. Namely that there were too many votes thereby proving the "massively naked short selling creating counterfeit shares" theory. But at the end of it no results were revealed so I can only assume it did not reveal the theory to be true.
Now to be clear, if this naked short theory creating markers theory is true there are would be other scenarios that would be distorted; not just the proxy vote.
