As a former executive of the company, I know the people involved. When I heard about the shoot, my interest was in meeting Jackson and Todd. I wangled an invite, but under the condition that I not disclose anything about the artist involved or details of the technology. Thus, I can't tell you that, exactly. But, to my ears, the category it would fit in was not Grunge, it was not exactly Heavy Metal or Country either, but it had elements of all three. I'd say that it was something new, and did not appear to me to be something that fits easily into into one or another category - more like it was creating its own category.
But I am no musical expert, and to tell you the truth was not focused on the music. I spent my time mostly keeping out of the way, and getting to know the team. I was very impressed. Very.
