It is a biotech bubble environment imo. But "as long as the music is playing, one gotta dance "( according to Chuck Prince of Citi I think).
Nowadays I have become a short term trader , in my tax deferred accounts, making a few K$ here and there , every few days or few weeks, buying/selling names that I know and am familiar with in biotechs and which have high volatility.
As long as the bubble spirit lives on like you surmise, my chance(s) of booking a profit doing short term trades are quite decent.

We still haven't seen any moves by GILD - their billions must be burning a hole in their very deep pockets.

I have no doubt they are considering what to buy. And given their stock is cheap, the buy will be for cash.

Note that the stock at 102 is now nearing the average that the company paid in buybacks last quarter.

ALXN-GEVA premium is the third-largest ever (largest for a biotech) for a US deal valued at $5B or more:

Maybe we should have a contest to see who GILD will buy…

iHub does not support write-in responses to surveys, so we need a list of targets. Inasmuch as many investor are expecting GILD to do something big, let’s restrict ourselves to companies with a market cap of at least $5B.

So far, the following names meeting the above criterion have been mentioned:

ATLN.S
ICPT
UTHR
VRTX (mentioned on Twitter)

If we add a couple of additional names, I’ll set up the survey.
