It is not that breakouts are bad to buy. There is just far less risk if you buy the pullback. Of course, sometimes the pullback does not come and you miss the move. Looking at the Newmont chart,if I saw the stochastic cross over to the upside after a successful test of the 30 area, I would likely be a buyer, if I wanted the stock.
