Agreed. I'm sympathetic because at this very moment I could be pulled over for the same thing :). Long story but the dealership botched the title paperwork for the new car I bought in January so I have no plate at all now! All they can do is give me 5-day Dealer tags until they fix it. Pain in the ass getting there every 5 days!
$5k bond would be normal if he had a failure to appear for a previous ticket. We call that a 'bench warrant' where I'm from. It's up to the officers discretion whether to actually arrest but with that hairdo it starts to make more sense...
It's nothing compared to the Federal case being built against him. Totally unrelated IMO
