I am not sure how the street is looking at the economy right now either, but my inclination is that they want to give this quarter we are now finishing a pass and rely on second half hopes instead. If, however, the numbers for this quarter are too bad or not accompanied by enough pleasant spin, the markets could get hit hard because it is valued for absolute perfection. At some point the hedge funds and MF's will get nervous enough about the ridiculous valuations that they will lock in their profits.
I still do not believe we have a sustainable recovery in our future any time soon but as always, I am no virgin at being wrong.
