Like you, I am slightly short. I didn't know about the change to margin rules, but it seems like that can't be all there is to this global selling. Maybe I am wrong there. It seems to me, like March 2000, the institutional players just decided it was time to sell.
We haven't had a true 20% correction in years, so we are overdue. Good perspecitve though. If this morning was 'the bounce' then it was pityful indeed.
husk..I may be totally wrong, but if there were a margin change, it would be all over the news and CNBC..and besides I don't think current positions are affected..ONly new positions..I don't think they retro..but I'm sure there have been and are a lot of margin calls..Has to be during a sell off like this..
