OT.....My brother has a gold claim. Placer mining.....dredging and panning. Great fun and sometimes profitable! It used to be my fathers.

Good fishing there too.<g> It's on the north fork of the middle fork of the American River, just outside of the little mountain town of Forest Hill.

Every once in a while he pulls out a good size nugget. The biggest I ever saw come out of it was just shy of an ounce, though I heard about bigger ones.

He wears a nice nugget on a chain around his neck.

There's still alot of gold in dem der hills!<g>

You could always take a trip to the local Walmart in Dahlonega, GA. They built it on the top of an old gold mine that is now just a tourist attraction. You go around the side of the parking lot and down about 100 ft and there is a little store. I got there to late in the day for the mine tour. I settled for a couple of small pieces of fools gold for a $1. <g>

I had gone to the store (brand new) before they opened it to install a fixture. Sure was nice of them to have already put it together for me. Could you sign here please. ;-) But I was.... You built the store on what??? I had to go see that for myself. <g>
