I know many folks who have been under the influence of THC for the past 30-40 years straight, who have never had a car accident. THC is just like any other chemical or medicine, if you smoked so much weed that you were completely blasted and took the wheel, then yes, of course you may get into a car accident. But I believe this is a small minority.

If you took ANY medicine in very high quantity, it would affect your driving as well. Why not develop a breathalyzer for every kind of meds that can alter your motor skills? Where do we stop? I wonder if stats are available showing a % of folks who had antidepressant meds in their system.

Saying 17% of folks had THC in their system is a meaningless argument. I bet that over 50% of women involved in accidents were wearing lipstick at the time. Does that makes lipstick responsible for their accident?
