Perhaps because the original AMD articles just related to the memory controllers linked with just Registered PC2700 on the original Opterons? Hence whereas before it was up to 20% now it is greater than that?
All I can see from this current spat is someone who has provided definitive links to back up their claim and another person who has alluded to links to try and debunk them but is unable to post them, and for whatever reason is also unwilling to give any ground on the matter. Kind of sad really.
I have yet to see one link where it is catgorically stated (not hypothesis on some forum) that the IMC is NOT responsible or indeed has only a minor responsibility for the improvement between K7 and K8. Yet there are a myriad that say it was a major reason for the improvement
