Core2 has improvements that minimize the impact of longer latency to main memory. The flip side is that going to an IMC won't provide as large a boost for Core2 as it did for the K8.
20-30% only in selected benchmarks. Cinebench and Sciencemark do not exhibit that improvement we do know already. You are of course discounting any benefits K8L will have as well as 65nm clock/cache increases. By the time Nehalem tips in 2008-9 with an IMC K8Ls might have large zram L3 caches as well. You have also not factored in any newer core after K8L which should have clustered multithreading. To say AMD has no future now would be as premature as Albert Yu when he said on merced release its competitors had no future ! ;-)
