For K8 however, cache size benefits are well known as there are versions with cache totals of 256KB, 384KB, 640KB and 1,152KB for showing what the cache size benefits are for a given workload

Why don't you find a review comparing the 4200+ and 4400+, or the 4600+ and 4800+, and show me how much the gain is by going from 512K*2 to 1M*2. Then go ahead and extrapolate what 2M*2 and 4M*2 might be, assuming at least a first order rate of diminishing returns.
The rest of your post is not much better than garbage, and it hardly addresses the point I have been trying to make.
