Instead of blithely telling me to read sites I have read every day for years why don't you actually point to specific quotes/links, like I have, of the specific increase in performance due to uarch improvements ? I wish you the very best of luck because I have not seen a figure higher than 5% attributed to that anywhere in all these years. Instead of blithely quoting a shopping list back up and quantify your bluster !

These are, of course, different things. The former is probably referring to caches getting flushed by multiple processes. Though that would be multitasking and not multithreading though many incorrectly use them interchangeably.
Many media encoders use SIMD instructions which were improved quite a bit for Conroe.
