ramblings Ok got the LED ZEP on in the background LOL...
needed to rid myself from the secret desire to see an economic collapse
It's a catharsis my friend. Global collapse. For a little while I thought that but then I kept buying energy and business trusts (got a transport for God's sake, end of the world NOT) sold most of my gold in January. Bought more energy instead of global collapse gold. Lots of nice income but the plan is to roll that into more diversified income streams and leave a nice pile for 'speculating'. We have different temperaments but are I think are looking for the same thing. Different trade offs is all. I'm not willing to take on as much risk.
Back to the collapse and LT view. Oh times will be different in the states and likely here. Wealth is like water and flows when barriers come down. Some of 'our' wealth is gonna flow east. Then again a huge market is going to open up. As to the gold ? I won't be overweight like last year this time. I think gold has become 'normal' now. Decent demand. Good mines will make good money. Good explorers will make money for us. Chaff blows away.
Energy I still like for a LT income stream but too much is too much eh! When you make 8 months of dividends in a few weeks it's time to make money the old fashioned way 'capital gains ;o) Maybe some REITs ? One is in tasty territory (for me not you LOL) Diversification saved my ass big time with Paramount but on a portfolio level I'm vulnerable. I know you know how good it feels to let go of all that stuff (ELD ?) when you know it's too much but you want to squeeze 'just a little more'..
The Chief's thread is a classic example of this , Yeah I often pointed that thread out to folks on SI. In it's heyday there it was my favourite thread. Was nice to see him set up shop here. I think that was the first SI thread I posted on and there are at least 4 current posters there, the Chief included that either made or saved this newbie money (lots of money). Those were my BID.COM, MCF, IPZ, IW daze before strictly drilling.
Glad to hear ya 'got the lead out' ;o)
regards
Kastel
