Although I find most of your post patently biased towards a policy where anarchy would rule supreme (as it does on other message boards), I must take issue with you concerning a horrendously erroneous analogy.
Gee Matt, even Jesus talked to the twelve apostles about things. I am sure he appreciated the input from those that he felt were so much wiser than him.
I am not sure what bible you claim to read but in most of the accepted versions the apostles were STUDENTS of Jesus, not advisors. Yes, he allowed them to pose questions, but the answers he already had. The only references to Jesus seeking "advice" are those times when he talked with the only entity capable of advising the Son of God... HIS FATHER. To imply that any mere mortal was wiser than the Son of God is ludicrous. Of course that is why he was crucified. The religious leadership could not tolerate being subordinate to anyone.
