Something very fuzzy about your example and math. First of all in your example, what is the price per share?

At $1 pps you have one million shares, and if your share count goes down to 10,000 shares that means it was a R/S of 100 to one. Horrible. Nobody is discussing anything even close to that. And our share value isn't even close to $1, if only it was.

But if you suffered this split, the share value in your example would now be $100. So you still have value of $1,000,000

The percentage of increase of a share at $1 going up a penny is not a valid comparison of a share at $100 going up a penny. The percentages are not the same. In fact the change is equitable to the reverse split ratio. So to compare a one dollar stock going up 1% (.01), you would see a $100 stock going up 1% would be a rise of $1. Voila!

Dude, stocks on big boards move in dollar ranges, not half cents. What matters is a percentage change, not net change.
Your math is right, your logic is flawed.

Darn.

This is not a good comparison.

You should talk about % increases.

If the stock price goes up by 1% you will make the same amount of money.

Your math is ok but, do the math also on after the R/S. 1,000,000 shs /40=25,000 shs... Now the R/S 40-1 is complete you end up with 25,000 shrs X $1.00 =$25.000 gain. That is far better then playing with pennies. Your math before the split was only $10.000 compared after the split was $25.000. We all want to R/S then go to big boards. Anyone agree???

Darb6616, This is what you wrote...

If you have a million shares and the stock price goes up one penny you make $10,000 per penny it goes up

After the reverse split let's say you have 10,000 shares now for every penny it goes up you only make $100 per penny

Then I replied,

Your math is ok but, do the math also on after the R/S. 1,000,000 shs /40=25,000 shs... Now the R/S 40-1 is complete you end up with 25,000 shrs X $1.00 =$25.000 gain. I would much rather be on the big boards in $DOLLAR LAND$ then stay in the OTC in PENNY LAND

Darb... You forget the penny increases will occur on the OTC. Factor in the same 100 times increase for the return on the big board and you get a dollar. Multiply that times the 10,000 shares and you get 10,000 dollars too. Will the big board increase be a dollar? Maybe not, but it should be close. If that concerns you then take some shares off the table on the OTC after the increase because most people would. Have a two or three bagger after the upload and we are ahead of the game. Do a 2 or 3 for 1 forward split after being on the board for a year and we are getting closer to our original positions after a 1 for 15 to get us there.

1000000 shares times 0.01 is 10000 yes indeed! so if its worth 0.18 per share times 1000000 thats 180000$ and 0.01 up is an increase of 0.55% gives you 10000$ correct!

You took a reverse split of 100/1 to get to 10000 shares so that means one share is 18 dollars still 180000$ but if you got up 0.01 here in this case that only an increase of 0.0055% and then you make 100$

10000$ - 100$ 0.55% - 0.0055% You see what i mean...

Everything stays the same after RS ... You need to do your math better my friend otherwise i would stop playing on the stock market! very important math!
