I don't know if people have wrapped their heads around the numbers yet.

The main requirement for surgery is a body mass above 40. This is extreme obesity. So in the US…. lets assume the potential surgical patients are between the ages of 18 to 65 with a body mass above 40.

Considering that 1 out of 20 people in the US meets the body mass requirement and there are approx 210 million people in the 18 to 65 age group, that represents about 10 million people who would meet the requirements. At $15k per procedure that is one hell of a market in just the US.
