ScoreBig: Re: "SIL is not being released on hi-def DVD"

what is your source for that statement?

I cannot have a source for something that has not happened. However, I have carefully read every press release related to the release of the movie. Nowhere have I read that a high definition DVD was being released or planned. GrooveMaster was making unsupported claims about NVEI's plans for a hi-def DVD. Funny. I don't see you attacking him.

If microsoft licensed a "promotional clip" for Hi Def DVD then I guess the filming would have to be in Hi Def wouldn't it?

Do *you* have any source to support that statement other than your guess? For the record, I made no claim that SIL was not filmed in hi-def. I don't know enough about it to say either way, and the SIL web site does not say. So, I guess that neither of us really know.

You are correct NV has not come out with a Hi Def DVD at this time...

Thank you. That was my point. GrooveMaster seems to think otherwise.

...but two weeks ago they hadn't even come "out" with a movie that was sold, now they have.

And, they may very well release a hi-def DVD in the future. However, they have announced no plans to do so.

you also said "there has been no statement that I know of that it will be hi-def" Groove just made a statement from a corporate exec., so there is a statement. And that corp exec was involved on location in the shooting of SIL. Are you calling him a liar?

I don't really want to get into this "are you calling XXX a liar" routine. You are taking a discussion that is objective and fact-based and personalizing it. I have no intention of calling anyone a liar. However, don't expect me to take the word of a anonymous total stranger, especially one who has already posted factually incorrect information. Let's also not forget the very long list of things that Ray said would happen that never actually did. Oh, and another thing. I made my statement *before* GrooveMaster responded that he had talked to Ray. How could I possibly have been calling him a liar when he had not even lied yet?

One final thing. It is not a "statement" until it is a public statement. Until GrooveMaster, or anyone else, can back up the statement with more than "I talked to Ray", I will be doubtful. I have frankly heard "I talked to Ray" too many times. One would think that you have too.

and you said "and the release will probably not happen until next summer."

Is this your opinion or do you know something?

This is my opinion only. The only thing I know is the approximate time that movies typically take to go from theatrical release to DVD. It could be longer, it could be shorter.
