For me it's pretty equivalent. They'll sell as much as they make, assuming nForce3 is ready, and all sort of server and worstation mobos are here.
I think Opteron is more universal than any other server chip. Will you use Xeon as gaming machine? Probably not. Will you use Itanium to edit large documents or spreadsheets? Will you use P4 for Oracle database? Will you use Sparc to run Photo/image editor? Will you use PPC in general-purpose server, from printing to web? Will you use HP-RISC to run Java middleware?
Opteron is good for all above.
But yes, I worry that they can't make 200K this year.
