Ron, I think you misunderstood Dew's point. Let me paraphrase him.

Dew was concerned that some dumb schmuck investors, like me, might get lucky in the Contest with TRIL and blow his portfolio out of the water, and eliminate his chances for a repeat. So to cover himself against that eventuality, he put TRIL in his Contest portfolio as a defensive maneuver against the dumb ass biotech investors who get their knowledge of biotech from Yahoo message boards and Twitter.

Remember, Dew is a world-class backgammon player; he knows how to play the odds.

What do you mean with regard to TRIL [as a charity-contest pick]?

I picked TRIL primarily for defense. I.e. I knew from the buzz on Twitter and iHub that several contestants would pick TRIL, which has a huge upside; hence, I couldn't afford not to pick it, despite a lack of strong conviction in the company's prospects.
