Nor does it mean that they HAVE to. In fact 12 days is relatively low and means that a short squeeze wouldn't be as huge as say if the days to cover was 20, 30, or more. What 12 days to cover DOES say is that shorts could close all short positions in just over 2 trading weeks which isn't too bad. IF THEY WANT TO. It doesn't mean in 12 days you will see shorts closing positions.
