Yes, the PR you just linked is from October 2014, notice what was actually licensed to Affinor:

"Affinor Growers (CSE:AFI)(RSSFF)(1AF.F) ("Affinor" or the "Corporation) announced today that it has enter into an Exclusive Patent License Agreement (the «Agreement») with Vertical Designs Ltd. ("VDL") to become the commercial licensor of VDL patented, food growing technology (the «Technology») on a worldwide territory excluding only Ontario, Alberta and the Maritimes (the «Territory»).

Under the terms of the Agreement, Affinor will use VDL's Technology to produce high quality non-GMO fruits and vegetables, royalty free to VDL."


Now look at Abattis's deal with Vertical Designs, which predates Affinor's by almost 2 years:

"Abattis has now been granted the exclusive, worldwide rights to a patent license, with the right to grant sublicenses, to use the Bio-Pharma technology for growing products at licensed facilities, which products may only be used as ingredients in the pharmaceutical, neutraceutical, cosmetic and wellness markets".
