That leaders in Israel and Turkey envision a network of four underwater pipelines for transporting Russian oil and natural gas, with feeder lines to Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Lebanon brings to light a pertinent point. By setting up Israel and neighbors with oil and gas from Russia Turkey is proposing a north/south pipeline. The United States has made it emphatically clear to the point of killing many people through instigating war in the Northern Caucasus that the world is not to build north/south pipelines. Turkey is defying the United States.
