One heartening thing is that their flagship product, for a whopping $7.99, is available on Blu-Ray:

That means that owners of NP-1 can compare the 4K content with the Blu-Ray.

I'd say it would let independent testing labs do the same thing, but we all know that NTEK would never send an NP-1 to an independent testing lab, despite the fact that they promised one to CNET something like a year ago.

The samples on the website are not very good even by HD standard
