The middle man, the market makers, has to buys them at a lower price..ie the bid, and then re-sell them at the ask. Sometimes the market maker gets stuck with them because the time runs out. >0104 is lower than the bid of .011

A trade that is closer to the bid than the ask is considered a sell - closer to the ask is a buy !
