Yes. And Network as well.

But they are movies. We can say, "I'm sick and tired of it and I'm not gonna take it anymore" as much as we want, but it will get jammed down our throats anyway. Hell, in a few years, we might even get arrested by our esteemed atty genrl whose name cannot be spoken and who doesn't apologize for doing anything in order to protect American citizens.

what a guy. as zeev says every so often in a different context, what a country. we're apparently about to send martha stewart to jail, but still haven't moved on the Enron guys, the global crossing guys, the innumerable crooks on wall street who stole billions and billions and paid a fine of what maybe 1 percent of their theft? And no one goes to jail. And here they go again, stealing more money from people--but its OK by the republicans, keep the govt out of it, its consensual theft between adults. as long as there is no fellacio involved. or something like that.

it's late, sorry, those hearings on filibusters that I was just watching on CSpan really affected me. Byrd was amazing--man I hope that guy can run again and keep his mind and sanity intact for another term, he is needed, and that is something I never thought I'd say before sometime last year. Dodd and Daschiel were good too. But the gall, the sheer chutzpah of some of these other guys (you know who I mean) simply astounds me--for them to imply that they are little angels, that the Democrats have "broken" the advice and consent system after what they (the Republicans) did in the '90s is just incredible. At least the senior senator from Utah whose name i also shall not utter wasn't there. I just can't stand it when he waxes self-righteous with lie after lie. Even worse than Henry "I made a youthful mistake" Hyde.
