Up-listing is important. The governance measures they require are for the benefit of minority public shareholders (ie, people like us) and institutional investors like mutual funds, ETFs, etc. The latter are essential for attracting analysts, trading volume, investor interest, etc.
Yes, up-listing is not a panacea or a magical dusting of stock-price-stays-high. Nothing is.
But a good company and good stock need to be listed on a real exchange.
