Google glass & descendants.

These aren't that much more compelling - at least, not today. Information sent through eyewear in general is seen by many as distracting, once the novelty wears off.

I can see compelling future usages, of course. Such as browsing a store, and have it tell me the prices for items, as well as user reviews. Or looking at a billboard for a show, and have it offer to sell me tickets (and reviews). Or looking at a street full of restaurants, and seeing the menu listings for each (and reviews).

So I get the usages. What I don't see is the infrastructure, software, and UI capable of delivering the data in a non-gimmicky way. I think we're likely still a few years away (or more), though I'm sure Google is working on it.

I am being charitable by assuming you are being facetious about Google Glass.

Friends of mine have "Glassholes will be buried out back" signs at their houses.

I wanted an HP-01 watch about 30 years ago, because I used HP calculators so many hours each day. But the economics were not there. I thought about buying one, looked at my HP-41C which was always with me, and decided to skip it. Good decision.

And, now, 30 years later, the "use case" for smart watches is even less compelling.

(Given that smartphones serve all of these needs, and more. I use an HP Reverse Polish ("dat be racist!") calculator on my smartphone, tablet, and laptop. Bliss.)
