<<said General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the head of the Revolutionary Guards and among the regime's most powerful figures. >> The source of this quote gives a lot of weight as to Iran stance.
Are you considering buying USO yet?
At the moment this brinkmanships breakouts into flaming fists, the price of Crude is going to EXPLODE and fast, as every signal short will run to cover en masse, and either in panic, that they bet the wrong way, or are taking out there short side hedge.
My odds that this confrontation WILL happen? 99%.
But the when, there is the rub---the U.S. attack will come without warning.
We do know Stratford is monitoring 24/7 all possible venues to get the edge to knowing when, but damned he is so pricey.

The Americans know better than anyone that their troops in the region and in Iraq are vulnerable. I would advise them not to commit such a strategic error," he told reporters on the sidelines of a pro-Palestinian conference in Tehran.

Other than Sadr and Iranian aligned militias how is the United States vulnerable? Possibly an answer in the following in reference to the 500 intelligence operatives, if true. Maybe they are not there solely to carve up Iraq.

Also note: If Iran has launched an ‘unofficial civil war’ we by arming various factions inside of Iraq have attempted to launch an ‘official civil war’.

Iran has launched an "unofficial civil war" in neighboring Iraq, British military officials believe. In recent days, British Special Forces troops and intelligence specialists have been tasked with tracking the activities of as many as forty Iranian agents operating in southern Iraq. In all, some 500 intelligence operatives from Iran are suspected to have entered Iraq over the past couple of weeks, using the cover of the annual Shi'ite religious pilgrimage to the shrine of the Imam Hussein in Karbala. The infiltration, officials in London believe, is part of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's plan to position covert assets and "carve up" the former Ba'athist state once Coalition forces withdraw.
