I just put in another order for AMD Jan $30 puts. This time $3.20 instead of $3.00. The market is going to take this stock lower, and Intel's announcement isn't going to make a difference. If Intel announces strong earnings or better forecasts, it means they're back in the game and AMD's success is limited. If Intel misses badly, Wall Street will assume bad market conditions. I can't see how AMD will win, except if their June conference reveals a CPU micro-architecture so revolutionary and shocking, that it will demand that people once again consider them as a future leader. If that happens, I'll sell back my puts at a loss. Otherwise, I'll be in a good position, IMO.
