I find it hard to believe that insurers will deny fixed dose combinations to patients because generic Truvada is available. Fixed dose combinations have convincingly proven that they are superior in efficacy due to compliance and bio-availability / prevention of resistance, etc.

Generic Combivir probably won’t get much business, but generic Truvada—which is coming to the US market in about three years—will.
