AMD $35.50 April implied volatility up to 65 on heavy put volume into EPS
AMD is expected to report EPS of .29 cents after the close. THNK say's "we worry that INTC, in its desperation to retain market share, has slashed prices across all product lines. We have even heard of INTC pricing cuts in server processors. We believe these cuts, and AMD's reaction to them, will be the primary focus investors."
AMD April option implied volatility of 65 is above its 26-week average of 47. AMD intra-day call option volume of 45,688 contracts compares to intra-day put volume of 75,169 contracts. Above average option implied volatility on aggressive put volume is, implying aggressive hedging on downside price concerns.
