Where is the conflict of interest? Just because they are married does not mean that she lack the professional skills to complete her job.

I'm not sure this is a bad thing. Basically Pierce is tying his family income to one company. If I was in something that was going to take off, I would get my wife involved if I could. If I had any doubt in the company I would tell her to stay where she was while I milked xyz for all it was worth.
