If the article in question sums up my Rant and I feel editing out a portion does damage to my whole Rant; then it should be posted in it's entirety. You also do a disservice of the author of the article by editorializing his article.
In most cases one can get the gist of the article in the first few sentences or paragraphs. Kind of like reading the newspaper. I don't have the time or the inclination to read every post in it's entirety. And I tire of having to scroll thru some of the longer ones. You are not "editing" by copy and pasting the pertinent parts relating to your rant and then posting a link to the article so anyone that wants to or has the time can read it if they wish.
But rant is the key word here.
It is not a rant if someone copy and pastes a long article that they agree with but with no original commentary. To me, that borders on plagiarism.
To date I don't think IHUB has placed a restriction on the length of a post!
No, but we have, sort of. And will continue to unless Matt steps in on us and tells us to knock it off.
