I appreciate that there have been some significant technical developments recently. The market right now reminds me of Japan in 1999. I don't have one of those handy 'correlation' charts that shows the percentage moves off the bottom, and their timing. If I can find some good historical data, I might try to whip one up. The Japanese market made some terrific gains that year because that was the year they finally 'got serious' about deflation and Y2K was causing liquidity to explode, as you probably well know. If the U.S. is following Japan into deflation, something similar should be expected. This may be it. The Japanese rally lasted just over a year and this one may end up doing so as well, counting from last October.
There are significant differences between the two markets, of course.
