Sarai, The fact is a Lt Gen does not lay his career on the line by stating the truth; which may in fact differ from his boss; in this case Bush & Rummy. What he is stating is a military review of the facts. The intelligence that they were provided was bad. There were no chemical weapons that could be used against the troops.
He used his intel to fight a battle and equip his troops. Bush and Rummy used the intel to order him into battle. See the difference? If you want to attack some one try his bosses; but please not the troops.
