Sony has a 100 Movie 4k Library Sony is constantly remastering classic movie and TV titles, and currently has over 100 4K movies in its library, new and old. While some movies can take just a few months to remaster, Lawrence of Arabia has taken nearly three years to get into a condition where the studio was happy with it. We can tell you it looks absolutely stunning.
FMP-X10 4K Media Player I have downloaded two videos on the 4K video player. When I try to play them I get the error message "licensenotfound". When calling support, they keep telling me they are working on the problem. Even assigned a number. Anyone else have this problem?
streaming 4k and 3D movies If you go to Sony Entertainment website, Video Unlimited it shows you can purchase or rent videos in SD, HD. 4K and 3D. I just bought the new XBR900B TV 55", over $4,000 dollars, went to Video Unlimited app and it shows no 3D or 4K movies! Went to the Video Unlimited website, in my accont and rented a 3D movie. It doesn't show on my TV under "My Videos"! Spent 1 hour with customer service, they transferred me to 4 or 5 diferent people and no one could tell me exactly what is going on, just one said the XBR900B $4,300.00 is not able to stream 3D or 4K through Video Unlimited!!!! Is this a joke? Video Unlimited shows they have more than 200 titles in 3D and 4K, convinced me to become affiliated, I bought the best TV and can't watch anything?
AlanS moderator replied but can't find a way to reply him back, or to continue the conversation. He said "It looks I have been assisted by one of the top experts by email" Well, not really! I emailed him back with questions and he didn't reply to me. So, I am still in a limbo! Just now, through him, I know that there is a 4K Video Unlimited Store, a "separate store" with access through FMPX1 player, and I will need one to stream 4K content. FMPX1 is not wireless and is not available on Sony store! Instead I found the FMP-X10 which seems to be an updated version, available in July. For 3D content I shoud go to VUDU, but I learned I will need some device to link my 4K TV with VUDU. Sony Blue Disc players don't do it. Through VUDU website I found that are only two BD players for that, both are LG Blue Disc players. So, Sony is telling me that to watch 3D movies on my X900B I have to buy a LG BD player?
"spent 1 hour with customer service, they transferred me to 4 or 5 diferent people and no one could tell me exactly what is going on" Oooooops, customer service doesn't even know that you need a $700 Sony hard disk to download and play 4K movies. Just a small detail. Maybe it's because big Sony doesn't have a “4K expert”, right? https://community.sony.com/t5/Meet-Our-Experts/bg-p/experts
5 grand to be able to rent/buy 200 4K movies from Sony, and Sony only, to show only on certain Sony TV sets. No apps, no games. What a deal !
But hey, in contrary to the Nanotechs NP-1 and Ultraflix “scam”, Sony is an industry leader, right ? :-) Lawrence of Arabia, from 1962. Now that's some content !
