fuagf -- sounds like you may have the side-to-side audio balance set (all the) way over to one side/one channel, so only the one side/channel actually has (pretty much all) the volume and the other is turned (all the) way down (separate from the overall volume level setting) (on mine at least, in both of those Jeffery [
] is strongly weighted to the right channel, I believe reflecting true playback)
and for that matter -- if one speaker has just gone silent, check its connection(s)
