I think the easiest way to justify war is to plant doubt and fear in the minds of the people. The tendency right now is to believe everything that Ahmadinejad says when it can be read as anti American and doubt everything he says when it can not.
As for the Ukraine, what they found was an arms race is decay. Rusting hulks. Did some of that material seep out into the world? That will remain an unanswered question. But at this point one would expect that Al Qaeda would have gotten hold of some of that material long before Iran could have, yet there is no evidence of that.
