Don't try to make it overly complicated. It's still a matter of getting the direction correct. If your contract has a higher percentage chance of finishing in the money, it has value and people will pay more for it. If not, it's worthless, nobody wants it.
CLF is one of my current favorites, and a good one to get a feel for the shorter term options.
