Did anyone say that it is stock manipulation that way? And not everyone can do it. Some traders have a high level platform. some dont.

not everyone can afford a platform to freely trade the way he/she wants.

what is offered through regular brokerages such as scottrade, etrade, etc are not as advanced as the one that you can get through the exchanges. people tend to not want to deal with the complexity.
