Yep - yesterday afternoon was a classic AG ramp job. He has yet to miss ramping when any bad news comes out concerning the war on terrorism, and I figured my shorts were in trouble as soon as I heard the terror alert status had been raised to "high".
I also note that this morning, even though the futures are down the $USD has been steadily pushed higher as we head into the opening. That is normally an early warning sign and I suspect we will get a ramp at some point this morning, probably early.
You are correct about the dividend - you have to buy the stock on or before the day before the ex-dividend date to get the dividend. You can sell on the ex-dividend date and still receive the dividend. The easiest way to think of it is that whoever owns the stock just before trading begins on the ex-date gets the dividend.
