You need to include all of the words in a quote to be honest here.

I posted this information in post # 75035

Leimer's Quotables From The March 3,2014 C&EN Article:

“This is scalable technology,” Managing Director Axel H. Leimer says. “If someone ordered 1 ton, we could make it. We have already made a half a ton,” he says. For the first time, a company is producing recombinant spider silk that is as tough and strong as the silk from a spider, Leimer claims.

Leimer is hoping that AMSilk’s know-how will enable it to roll out products generating annual sales in the next couple of years of more than $10 million. He is targeting sales of more than $100 million once large-scale production of synthetic fibers is under way.

Leimer hopes that, by the end of 2015, AMSilk’s spider silk protein will also be on the market as a dip coating for silicone breast implants. The protein changes the properties of the implant, making its hydrophobic surface slightly negatively charged and reducing the body’s reaction to it, Leimer says. “It’s a double-digit million-dollar market for spider silk.”

Large-scale output for products such as fibers and high-performance textiles will come after 2015, Leimer says. Longer term, AMSilk is eyeing capsules for drug delivery and miniature spider silk beads for vaccines that would get around the need for refrigeration.
Leimer is convinced that, even from the outset, the market will be able to support several players.

They are already producing - and SELLING - some of their silk.

NOT in the form of a fiber....

ANYONE who can make a claim to have KBLB beat (or are even remotely close),when it comes to cost-effective parameters, from a commercial quantity viewpoint, i'm more than willing to take a look at....

Presently there is none.

They have an actual functioning company

Do I really need to go through the history of KBLB,in order to explain this part;the business relationships (foreign and domestic) they've garnered over time and the fact that they are on the verge of producing metric ton quantities of MS?

You viewpoint was appreciated,nonetheless.

Would you mind giving us a link to a third party verification? I would like to know where it is you see this company making money.
You and I know 2 opposing "facts".

I know for a fact that you can purchase their cosmetic silk material - and the price is definitely making them nice money.

When I contacted Amsilk to buy some of their product I was told specifically that I could not buy it as a private individual. They were only making small amounts of it and it was only available to affiliated R&D firms or schools.
Their protein goo blocks would not be available to the market "for a few years yet"

That was early in 2013 (around March)

So could you please show me a link to their income?
I would also like to know what the price of their silk is. Last I knew is was about $50,000 a pound but that was long before they decided they would not pursue silk fibers any more and were concentrating on powders and blocks of protein.

An "actual functioning company"??? I wouldnt mind hearing what puts a company into the "actual" zone. Last I knew KBLB was doing "actual" business deals with other "actual" companies.

Has Amsilk made any deal with anyone? Actual or otherwise?
