My ideas on the survey -
I think this is merely good business sense.
They are about to bring out a new Webstite, where many, many problems are going to be resolved.
A few days before the new Website, they send out a survey, asking "how can we help you?"
People respond with all the things they would like to see improved, and
"voila"!
There's the new Website with all the improvements that the people asked for in the survey.
Very clever!
