Non-stock boards most certainly DO have value. Immense value, IMO, and Matt has recently seen the light by looking for boards talking about his particular model of motorcycle.

They just don't have as much value *here* as stock boards do. This is, first and foremost, a MARKET message board. The off-topic boards are a place for people who share an interest in the market to also share some of their other interests. With their interest in the market being the common denominator. The use of our technology, horsepower, and bandwidth to talk about anything under the sun is a privilege afforded only to paying members.

My pro-Ford posts in the Gearhead board are as valuable to this site as my talking about my investment preferences on a site dedicated to the Mustang.

The number of people talking about Mustangs on the internet is enormous! But if they're not here to talk about stocks, they're not encouraged to set up shop here to just talk about Mustangs.

We will eventually be providing them a separate home, though. That's the "Talkzilla" vision. Car nuts talking to each other and seeing AutoZone ads. Parents of teens talking to each other and seeing Valium ads. And members of iHub will be members of the other sites, with subscription to one being a subscription to all.
