Sadly its the way Wall St. has been working for some time.

1. The investigate companies

2. When they find enough good ones, they quickly start purchasing stock thereby jacking up the stock price

3. When they've bought enough, they look for the next set of companies and repeat the process.

4. Also during this time they are selling the now market-up stock and a slow pace that matches ongoing demand.

5. Then the demand dries up and the stock price comes back down to earth.
